Its latest venture has been into building a robust and powerful mobile application – ‘PipProfit’ – to streamline and improve user experience and engagement. With safety of funds and speed of execution as its USP, the firm aims at leveraging its strengths as it adapts to the mobile-first user base.
A one-of-its-kind natively developed mobile application, PipProfit functions as a comprehensive platform that offers vital updates on events, helps users with key news, and can be accessed without location constraints. From concept to reality, we at Day1 Technology helped Fullerton Markets with its new-age app and this is how we achieved it.
Challenges we faced
FinTech is paving a new wave in the global economy and disrupting legacy systems in many ways. Banks and financial institutions are gradually understanding the need to adopt a more collaborative approach than mere competition. The challenge however is to build platforms effective and efficient enough to aid real people who are dealing with funds directly.
While building the app for Fullerton Markets therefore, the challenge has primarily been towards integrating with the existing system to build a scalable architecture to support mobile applications on top of the existing platform.
This involved building a comprehensive platform collates and presents relevant trading resources/information in one place, so as to keep one updated on events, offerings and relevant news from Fullerton Markets. The app moreover would contribute to the larger goal of adapting to a mobile-first generation and moving users from the web to applications.
Web to Mobile App
Realizing the potential of the mobile-first generation, the immediate POA was to scale from a web to mobile platform
Proprietary content, PDF files, trading documents. All material initially built for the web (larger screen) now had to be converted so as to keep it readable on mobiles.
Design & Development
Include dual light and dark theme (back when the design theme was new and trending), show useful features/ keep hidden features, maintain the theme of the brand and platform while designing the UI/UX for mobile.
What we did
The goal was to build a mobile app from scratch that would incorporate the best in design and technology to deliver an unmatched user experience. The strategy was to first brainstorm with core team players to identify existing drawbacks, dependencies, challenges, market trends, existing competition etc. Following this, a more systematic approach to designing and UI/UX was outlined, before moving to development, so as to build an app that’s easy-to-use, engaging, action-oriented and delivery-driven.
Day1’s strategy and approach also involved using the right technology to back distinct features, while leverage the company’s existing strengths. For instance, with the safety of funds as a core strength, the app included the ‘easy deposit and withdrawal’ feature allowing users to view their trading account and transfer funds conveniently.
